What I look for when investing

I have been involved in company building from 0 to 1 and in the early growth stages since 2005. I've guided founders on team formation, ideation, testing, product strategy, branding, company values, and initial go-to-market strategies. This is what I believe will lead to break-out success.

(1) Founders who are customer-centric and data-driven. They lead with speed and agility to adapt to an ever-changing landscape and are tackling big, high-quality customer problems.

(2) Founders who are mission-driven and intentionally build a culture of innovation, and inclusion to realize outlier performance. When a team is humming it’s because there is trust which enables risk-taking.

(3) Startups with disruptive technology combined with an authentic brand to capture consumer trust and loyalty in an increasingly noisy world. Moats create value and come in many forms.

About me

I’ve worked with founders since 2005. I bring unique perspectives & experiences to investing.

• In 2006, I founded and served as the CEO of Women 2.0, a startup media company and community. Exposing me to hundreds of early-stage startups, their pitch decks, and their teams while building trusted relationships with the early-stage venture community.
• In 2009, I founded and served as the CEO of Founder Labs, the industry's first Lean Startup Incubator. I worked hands-on with teams from 0 to 1 as their first advisor.
• From 2005 to 2018, I worked as an early-stage Product and Brand Leader and Advisor. I’ve played a leadership role in B2C, B2B, and marketplace startups.
• From 2018 to 2023, I built Nike’s first incubator to explore new wellness, commerce, and sustainability business ideas. I led vision, values, culture, structure, process, and governance from 0 to 1 to scale.
• Since 2018, I have brought it all together by Angel Investing and leading SPVs in mission-driven founders.
